The municipality of Calvià has once again become the municipality with the most Q quality certified beaches. A confirmation that beaches such as those of Palmanova are among the best in Mallorca. Specifically, the 15 beaches with the Q quality flag are: Buganvilla, Illetas balneario, Cala Contesa, Portals Nous, s'Oratori, es Carregador (Palmanova) Palmanova, Son Matias, Magaluf, Cala Vinyes, Ses Peñas Rojas (el Toro), Santa Ponça, La Romana (Peguera) and Palmira (Peguera).
In total, fifteen distinctions to corroborate the quality of the beaches of Calvià that the mayor has collected in Madrid from the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Reyes Maroto. This is one more reason to enjoy Palmanova and its surroundings, without forgetting to stop at one of its best terraces: The Blue Bar. Located on Son Matias, one of the beaches that boasts the Q flag for tourist quality. If you visit any of these 15 beaches, take the opportunity to take a break and recharge your batteries in our restaurant, with the best views of the sea.
Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, Mayor of Calvià, has pointed out that these distinctions are a "recognition of the joint work that is done to guarantee quality in the services, maintenance, conservation and accessibility of our beaches", as well as an incentive to continue with the work of improving the beaches of Calvià.
The Q flags are awarded by the ICTE, the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality, dependent on the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, based on the internationally recognised ISO quality standard.
In order to be eligible for the Q flags, the beaches of Calvià must undergo an audit each year in which they are checked for compliance with the established requirements and parameters. These refer both to the management and control of the procedures and work carried out on the beaches. In other words, an exhaustive control of the integral management of its services is carried out.
At The Blue Bar we are delighted that our beach, Son Matias, has been recognised with this distinction and we invite you to visit it and come and enjoy it on our terrace!
