The festival 'Literatura Expandida a Magaluf' consolidates in 2022 with its second edition. A cultural event in the municipality of Calvià that aims to demonstrate the various initiatives that the municipality has.
From the 30th of September until the 2nd of October, the INNSiDE Calvià Beach Hotel, just a few minutes from the terrace overlooking the sea of The Blue Bar, will host 'Literature Expanded to Magaluf' 2022. In its first edition, the event attracted more than 3,000 attendees.
This year the festival is the result of the initiative of the Rata Corner bookshop and the Innside by Melià hotel, with the support of the Calvià Town Hall, and is growing in terms of participants and activities. The aim is to add value to local culture by taking literature beyond the established spaces.
FLEM 2022 will bring together some thirty writers, musicians and artists. Highlights include the American novelist Chuck Palahniuk, author of The Fight Club, and Elif Batuman, New York writer and Pulitzer Prize finalist with her previous novel 'The Idiot', who will present 'Either One or the Other'. Also the British writer and journalist Caitlin Moran, the writers Marta Sanz, Sebastià Portell, Ray Loriga, Meryem El Mehdati, Pol Guasch, Daniel López Valle, Anna Freixas and Eugenia Tenenbaum; the journalists and writers Carlos del Amor and Jon Sistiaga, the illustrators Esther Gili and Amaia Arrazola, the musicians and writers Joan Miquel Oliver, Abraham Boba (León Benavente), Jorge Martí (La Habitación Roja) and Miquel Serra; the poets Elvira Sastre, Josep Pedrals and Laura Sam, Marina García and Monstruo Espagueti from the podcast Gente 2020 along with the cartoonist Flavita Banana are the participants in this second edition of the festival.
The talks and recitals will be complemented by various musical performances. The programme includes Luis Albert Segura, Renaldo & Clara, Maria Jaume and Paco Moreno.
Three days in which Magaluf will host talks, recitals, meetings, concerts, artistic interventions, book signings and different free activities for the public.
